The paper presents the Hilbert polygon space-filling curve as a path which exactly matches that of a depth-first quadtree traversal. It illustrates an efficient implementation of the path using look-up tables encoded in programmable array logic devices to provide a mapping between the Hilbert path and an x-y screen position. Results from constructing a display device driven in this manner at a medium resolution and a 50Hz refresh rate are given. A photograph of the display output when viewing a quadtree-encoded CT scan is included
