We describe a novel architecture for direct conversion receivers based on sixport configuration. The analytical and simulation results show that the introduced multi-port direct receiver is capable to perform MQAM and MPSK demodulations. Moreover, this demodulator can be easily designed for broadband applications. A main advantage of this design is to reduce six ports to five ports. The proposed receiver is very suitable for software radio applications.
