This paper discusses the phenomenon of synchronization of a class-C oscillator in the subharmonic mode and reports certain new phenomena. A mathematical method has been developed to account for the phenomena. The effect of the time constant of the automatic biasing circuit on the synchronization range, frequency characteristics, stability, and locking time of the oscillator has been studied. Experimental data are also presented in support of the theory.
