An automated UMTS site selection tool

Site selection was historically a manual task. This was possible and also efficient enough for GSM type services, as generally only coverage needed to be considered. In UMTS, many more criteria must be considered simultaneously, making the manual task much more difficult, with the need to investigate a much larger number of site selections. This opens up the need for an automated system to aid in this process and it is hoped that automated UMTS site selection will not only make the process faster, but also provide a better final site plan.
