Dilatation of S waves and rotation of P wave in weakly anisotropic elastic media

The propagation of body waves in a homogeneous weakly anisotropic elastic medium is considered. Expressions for dilatation of S waves and rotation of P waves are found by a perturbation approach. The effects of anisotropy are compared then with these of smooth inhomogeneity.
