Time domain simulation of ferrite materials using the finite integration technique

Regarding broadband time domain simulations for various EMC applications, the dissipative as well as the dispersive character of ferrite materials is of great significance. Beyond this, in case of a static magnetization, such media also exhibit gyrotropic behavior. Thus, due to generality in this paper, the complete frequency dependent and anisotropic characteristics of ferrites are treated. Applying system theory, the developed method is based on the finite integration technique under consideration of a modified stability analysis concerning space and time discretization. The algorithm is validated by comparison with analytical results and its applicability is confirmed by two practical examples, namely a one way transmission device and a waveguide circulator.
