Micro and nanotechnologies-a Romanian R&D programme open to European co-operation

This paper presents a number of ideas related to the orientation of Romania towards the advanced research. MICRONANOTECH, the programme for R&D in micro and nanotechnologies is presented as an example of such an orientation. The problem of international co-operation in general and of European co-operation in particular will be discussed.
