Low frequency behavior of a reverberation chamber with monopole antenna

Quasi-static approximations apply to emissions testing for low frequencies in a reverberation chamber. This paper presents a comparison of different methods used to devise a voltage transfer function between a device under test (DUT) and a monopole antenna for low frequency testing in a reverberation chamber. A scale model is used to obtain a capacitive voltage transfer ratio from the DUT and wiring harness to the antenna. Next a 3D electrostatic finite element model and a finite difference time domain model are constructed to determine a more accurate transfer function. The results are compared to measurements.
