Wireless Technologies for 5G and the Internet of Things [From the Guest Editor's Desk]

The articles in this special section addresses the future of 5G mobile communication. The next milestone is the definition and deployment of 5G wireless systems that promise increased data rates, support for a massive increase in the number (i.e., billions) of devices connected by the so-called Internet of Things (IoT), and low latencies to support new user experiences and time critical applications.
