Induction machines as an alternative for automotive electrical generation and starting systems

This paper proposes the induction machine as an alternative to the existing Lundell alternator used around the world. The induction machine has better power to speed characteristics than the current system. It promises increased reliability and economic viability by reduction of mechanical components when integrated with the starter.
