Future undersea lightwave networks

Future directions for undersea systems are driven by increassing demand for global communications services in terms of traffic growth, demand for new connectivity, and complexity of networks. We will examine forecasts for global communication growth and it's impact on global undersea networks. In parallel with the increasing demand, the optical amplifier technology allows for vast increases in communication capability for undersea systems. In terms of transmission capacity, new interconnect capabilities, as well as new networking features.
