Achieving the multiple access capacity region via projective time sharing

Any rate tuple in the capacity region of an M-user Gaussian or discrete memoryless multiple access channel can be achieved using a time sharing configuration requiring no more than 1/2 M log/sub 2/ M+M single user codes.
