190 000 rpm low-power magnetic rotor with superconducting bearings

The permanent magnet levitation above the high-Tc superconductors (HTSC) can be used for a high-speed magnetic rotor on superconducting bearings rotating completely without magnetic friction. It provides an application in technics and various branches of experimental physics. The proposed high-rotational-speed magnetic rotor has a number of advantages owing to self-stabilization of rotation, rapid damping of nutation oscillations while untwisting, low-energy suspension system capacity and others. It includes two Sm-Co magnetic discs which magnetic moments are directed along rotor axis and used for suspension of the rotor in HTSC bearings and untwisting device with third magnetic disc.
