Structural design of medium-voltage networks considering dispersed generation

Dispersed generation in the distribution network, especially wind energy converters and unit-type district heating power stations have been growing in importance in Germany for some years. Since the owners of the networks and the companies managing the power stations in Germany are not usually one and the same, the degrees of freedom regarding the connection of the supply to the power stations often lead to differences of opinion. Existing guidelines on the connection of the supply to the power stations used by the energy supply companies are more often than not called into question by power station managers. This report shows, with the help of case studies, how the basic technical conditions can be investigated effectively and how the discussion can be objectified to the advantage of both sides.
