An effective PML for the absorption of evanescent waves in waveguides

As emphasized by several authors in literature, the evanescent modes are not absorbed by usual perfectly matched layers (PMLs) terminating waveguiding structures. The purpose of this work is to present a new version of the PML that allows a substantial absorption of such waves to be achieved.
