Study of the key technologies of V2G-based PEV charging and discharging facilities

Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) is a key application in the smart grid, and its charging activity has become a vital threat to the grid operation. Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging and discharging technology can effectively utilize the PEVs to enhance the reliability and economical efficiency of the grid system operation, and the V2G-based PEV charging and discharging facilities provide a platform for the V2G-PEVs utilization. This paper comprehensively analyzes and summarizes the operational model, key techniques and study the progress of existing V2G-based PEV charging and discharging facilities, then proposed their development priorities that are suitable for China's grid construction, providing ideas for the construction of PEV charging and discharging facilities as well as developing V2G technologies in China.
