Active tuning of crystal oscillators

In this paper four systematic methods are described for the active tuning of crystal oscillators. The four methods are compared with respect to power consumption and maximum attainable carrier-to-noise ratio. It is concluded that the parallel resonance mode has to be preferred for active on-chip crystal tuning.
