Fryze's power definition: Some limitations

This paper advocates the concept that a power theory that is in harmony with the physical laws must be based on Maxwell's equations. This claim is mathematically proven by analyzing the energy conversion mechanism that governs an induction motor performance. This study shows that the Poynting Vector theory leads to a practical apparent power resolution that supports the definitions given in the IEEE Std. 1459 - 2000.
