Can spatial separation increase throughput of conflict resolution algorithm?

We revisit the problem of maximum stable throughput of a simple collision channel with the possibility of exploration of spatial separation of the users. For the classical model of this channel, it is shown that under the assumption of uniform spatial distribution for nodes, space diversity will not enhance the maximum achievable throughput.
