Accurate time delay and Doppler stretch estimation in noisy environment

A wavelet based wideband cross ambiguity function (WB-WBCAF) has been used in the context of joint estimation of the time delay and Doppler stretch between two received signals (radar and sonar). But in a noisy environment, the performance of the method deteriorates because the WBCAF is severely corrupted by the contamination. In order to provide accurate measurements of the time delay and Doppler stretch for practical applications, a simple denoising method is introduced to the WB-WBCAF algorithm. This has improved the accuracy of the estimation significantly but without involving any additional computation load.
