Multilead evoked potentials modelling based on the Prony's method

A method of modelling evoked potentials in the multielectrode case, using the Prony's method, is proposed and tested on the human cerebral responses. The multichannel model is derived from the state-space representation of a single-input multi-output system according to the linear systems theory. The evoked potential is considered as an impulse response of a linear system. The Prony's method is chosen, to estimate the model coefficients, for its ease and speed. To estimate correctly the visual evoked potential model, with this approach, only 100 ensemble averages are needed.
