Spectral imaging with a modified document scanner

Spectral imaging of a color document is realized by a modified flat-bed scanner in which its linear image sensor is replaced by a diffraction grating and a two-dimensional image sensor. This illuminant-independent color recording may be advantageous for desk-top applications.
