Optical FDMA networks: a discrete-time approach

We present a discrete-time approach to evaluate the bit error probability and power penalty of optical FDMA networks using OOK modulation. The direct detection receiver employs a Fabry-Perot filter as a channel selector. The discrete-time approach utilizes the trapezoidal expression together with /spl alpha/T+1 complex samples of the complex envelope of the optical FDMA signal at the Fabry-Perot filter output. The discrete model is highly accurate and computationally efficient.
