Transportable He-Ne/CH/sub 4/-CO/sub 2/-laser frequency standard

A transportable laser frequency standard at 3.39 /spl mu/m and 10.2 /spl mu/m was created. The complex consisted of He-Ne/CH/sub 4/ and CO/sub 2/ lasers. The first one was stabilized on 76 transitions of the F2(2)P(7)3 methane line. The third harmonic of CO/sub 2/ laser radiation was phase locked to the He-Ne/CH/sub 4/ laser frequency. Long-term stability of 10/sup -15/ was achieved. Absolute frequency of laser standard was measured with accuracy of 10/sup -13/.
