A New Carrier-Free Nonlinear FDTD Algorithm Suitable for the Moving Computational Window Technique

The model equations of the vectorial time-domain simulator of second-harmonic generation in integrated optical structures have been reformulated by extracting the signal carrier. The moving computational window technique is then used to ease the computational burden in the finite-difference time-domain solution. Results show that the technique provides considerable savings in computation power especially for long propagation distances.
