Supporting intelligent organizations: problem solving and learning

The foundations of a psychology of intelligent organizations based on contemporary and traditional cognitive theory is described. This organizational psychology is then used to describe the architecture for an integrated learning and problem-solving system. The ultimate purpose of the system is to support organizational cognition by facilitating the understanding, formalization, and development of technology. It is reasonable to consider organizations as intelligent systems because they have the capability to abstract, interact, and learn from their environments.<
