Theory of pseudoplastic screen inks in orifice printing

The theory of orifice printing with high-viscosity nonNewtonian screenable inks in thick-film hybrids is presented. Theoretical models describing various aspects of the printing have been found from fluid mechanics. The nature of pressure losses in printing has been investigated using the law of conservation of energy. The rheological suitability of screenable inks in the orifice printing has been studied. The study shows that the pseudoplastic property of the inks seems to be desired for the flow inside the tube, but not as much at the tip of the nozzle, where Newtonian rheology is more suitable.<
