Phase-controlled CLL resonant converter

Two identical CLL resonant inverters are paralleled to form a phase-controlled resonant inverter. A voltage-driven rectifier is used as an AC load of the inverter which results in a phase-controlled CLL resonant DC-DC power converter. A frequency domain analysis of the inverter is performed, and design equations are derived. The converter can be operated at a constant switching frequency, which reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems. The converter is capable of regulating the output voltage in the range of load resistance from full load resistance to infinity. An experimental prototype of the phase-controlled CLL resonant and converter with a center-tapped rectifier is built and extensively tested at an output power of 48 W and a switching frequency of 147 kHz.<
