Measuring the cost of health care technologies

Currently used methods for estimating the contribution of technical innovations to health care costs are discussed. It is argued that these methods are unhelpful and imprecise in developing disaggregated estimates of the costs of different types of technologies. What is required is a careful attempt to measure the effects of innovations in hardware and software technology on health care costs.<
