Knowledge as a measure of the effectiveness of management support systems

It is proposed that using management support systems (MSS) will improve knowledge by providing managers with more information and analytic tools that they can use to learn more about the nature of their environment, the effectiveness of various strategies, and the relationship between actions and outcomes. Techniques ranging from qualitative analysis to multivariate statistical techniques are proposed as methods for measuring knowledge. Previous research is also reviewed on both the importance of knowledge to managers and the impact of MSS on knowledge.<
