Computer integration: teaching innovations

One of the principal features of the new engineering curriculum adopted at Stevens Institute of Technology in 1980 was the concept of a computer thread. This concept called for the meaningful integration of computer usage throughout the curriculum. The implementation of the computer thread used a strategy based on the ready availability of computer resources. The details of this strategy and its impact on the curriculum and on the educational process are discussed.<
