The design of an efficient real-time maintenance prioritization tool

This paper highlights the important issues in the design of a real-time maintenance prioritization tool. The main objective of this tool is providing timely inputs for maintenance planning. Computational efficiency is a major concern in the design. The current implementation of the tool adopts a generic distributed network system. The design principles described in this paper are general and can be applied to various types of systems.
