Resonant light propagation through 90/spl deg/ bend waveguide based on strained two-dimensional photonic crystal

A novel waveguide with sharp bend is demonstrated in a two-dimensional photonic crystal. This is achieved by controlling the splitting of a doubly degenerate defect state.
