Strip buried heterostructure lasers with passive distributed Bragg reflectors

x
Ga
1-x
As. The diode is shown to operate stably in single transverse (fundamental) and longitudinal modes when the Fabry-Perot modes are suppressed by saw cutting the mirrors.
