Possibilities of the use of SAW technology in future wireless access networks

The use of solid state technologies are considered , in particular acousto-electronic (AE) and planar acousto-optic (AO) technologies for the analog pre-processing of spread spectrum signals in multiple wireless access systems. The long term studies show the potential of the proposed approaches to an advanced air-interface architecture based on the solid state electronics to meet the requirements for future mobile and fixed wireless networks.
