CMOS-Compatible Dual-Column Linear Image Sensor With a Gain of 105 and Dynamic Range of 120 dB

CMOS linear image sensors have been extensively studied and widely applied due to the features of low power consumption, low cost, and fast scanning speed. In recent years, some studies have begun integrating them with a near-infrared (NIR) light source as the photoelectric unit in eye-tracking systems. In the NIR wavelength range, photoelectric detection performed by silicon-based CMOS materials or processes is preferred. In this study, we successfully designed and fabricated a silicon-based CMOS dual-column linear image sensor named dual-column linear array sensor (DCLAS), exhibiting a high responsivity of 105 A/W, a high gain of 105, a wide dynamic range of 120 dB, and a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 100 dB, along with a differential noise reduction function.
