Reliability Assessment of Multi-Microgrids Considering Collaborations at PCC

Microgrids (MG) that are located near each other may have varying levels of power supply redundancy. Therefore, interconnecting two or more microgrids into one multi-microgrid (MMG) system can lead to improved overall power supply economics and reliability. Multi-microgrid systems are often more complex than single microgrids. Reliability research is of paramount importance for MMG design and operation, and an accurate MMG model serves as the basis for MMG operational analysis. The effect of the interconnectivity capacity of the microgrids within an MMG must be taken into account when assessing reliability. In this article, a method is proposed to evaluate the effect of dynamic and exchange behaviors on power supply reliability for microgrids within MMG systems.
