Cloud computing is a buzzword terminology applied to several nascent trends in the turbulent landscape of information technology. Computing in the "cloud" alludes to ubiquitous and inexhaustible on-demand IT resources accessible through the Internet. In the era of cloud computing, whole lifecycle of telecommunication services, especially service deployment, present new features. In this paper, based on detailed analysis of the telecommunication service deployment and the shortcomings when virtualization-based solution used, a novel service-oriented resource description method is proposed. By extending traditional OVF definition, it considers more service-related information to facilitate the service deployment. Additionally, service deployment framework based on it is described. With the framework, the service information gap between service layer and resource layer has been effectively bridged. Service-related information can be translated to supplementary information and used to determine the best service deployment. Also a use case based on DSN VoIP service proposed by China Mobile is illustrated in this paper to describe the benefits bring by it.
