With the continuous expansion of the network scale, the complexity and heterogeneity of computer networks request high toward network management. While a SNMP-based centralized network management has disadvantage in the scalability and flexibility. By applying mobile agent is a good solution to those problems. In this paper, a mobile agent-based distributed network management framework is presented. We compared and contrast it with traditional SNMP-based centralized network management in theoretical demonstration of the performance in reducing bandwidth usage.
