Image technology and facial expression of emotions

One of the most important advances in the field of research on emotions is due to a formal description of an emotional system hierarchically organized and highly differentiated. Numerical image technology has been used to create a material composed of expressive faces in which the upper and the lower part belongs to distinct emotional expressions for a given individual. The resulting expressions are labelled "chimerical expressions" because they are composites of elements which belong to distinct categories of emotions. The mixture of fear and happiness will be the cases in point. The aim of the present paper is to give only an outline of the findings obtained, through the use of the chimerical expressions in the field of perception of emotions.
