Feedback optimization of gas-phase molecules and clusters by shaping of ultrashort laser pulses

A tailored ultrashort laser pulse was applied to the alkali clusters, and the emerging photoions were optimized by computer-controlled feedback optimization algorithm, The resultant pulse shape is consistent with the vibrational motion in the excited states.
