Automatic analysis of weariness during a micromanipulation task by SMOS

Experiments carried out and the criteria used to detect the state of fatigue of a human operator using SMOS (stereotaxical microtelemanipulator for ocular surgery) are described. The study of spectra of cervical and lumbar vertebra muscles and the evolution of the principal and middle frequency are shown to provide a relatively precise idea of the state of the operator. The results obtained show that the detection of fatigue by the EMG parameter is independent of the initial state of the operator.<
