The use of new educational technologies and Internet in teaching electromagnetism and wave optics

Summary form only given. Some new educational software and additional possibilities of multimedia applications and modern communication systems (e.g. the World Wide Web) in teaching electromagnetism and wave optics to undergraduate and postgraduate students are presented. A discussion about the methodological approach and the didactic in teaching to achieve greater efficiency and better understanding of the studied subject is submitted. A demonstration of several educational multimedia products developed in England, the USA, the Russian federation and Bulgaria, and also some fragments of encyclopedic editions, animation clips, etc. is included. Two software products of the Russian company PHYSICON which are issued in both English and Russian language could be distinguished for their universality and multiform possibilities. They are designed not only to present the theoretical fundamentals of every chapter in physics but also provide demonstrations of classical experiments in a dynamic mode. The authors share their experience and methodological approach in teaching at universities and colleges and distance training via multimedia products and the Internet.
