Analysis of three decades of rainfall rate data from dry inland and dry and wet coastal areas in Norway

Rainfall rate data from three Norwegian sites, each representing different typical climates, are studied. The sites are compared with respect to % occurrence of rain rates, and also compared with curves calculated from the latest ITU recommendation. The duration of rain events when including different minimum rain rates are calculated, and a closed mathematical expression is presented for each of the three Norwegian sites. The variability of rain rates is discussed in terms of a 'long term stability" parameter.
