Analytic treatment of the Green's function to simulate piezotransducers radiation in fluids using a FEA/BEM

The proposed work in this paper follows the one described in Piranda et al. (1998) where a comparison of several methods were done to study the acoustic radiation of piezoelectric transducers in fluids. This comparison shows that the variational method based on a mixed formulation finite elements/boundary elements, were the most efficient to model such a radiation. According to this observation, this paper presents an approach that consists in an analytic treatment of the Green's function of the fluid medium for 2D cases. Comparative results have been performed with this approach and the Gauss's technique of numeric integration. Finally a validation of the approach has been achieved by comparison of the computation results with experimental measurements.
