Harmonic survey and solutions of Xining power grid in western China

A practical harmonic survey in a local power system is described in this paper. The situation and characteristics of harmonic pollution in Xining grid are concluded on the enormous field measurement data. Harmonic amplification of shunt capacitors is also discussed to show the possibility of harmonic amplification. Finally, potential solutions are given from different perspectives.
