Harmonic current minimization in PMSM drive system using feedforward compensation based on torque ripple estimation

Harmonic current hazard permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and it's drive system. If the frequency of the harmonic currents, which are closed to the fundamental harmonic cannot be eliminated by filter. One reduction method of these harmonics is current command compensation across control strategy improvement. A feedforward compensation method is proposed to reduce harmonic current in PMSM drive system. Electromagnetic torque ripple is estimated to calculate compensation current reference based on sliding mode observer. A low pass filter is added to obtain average torque and then torque ripple is got too. Simulated results show that harmonic components of the motor current can be reduced.
