Verification of Algorithm for an I/Q-Radar System for Breathing Detection in an Incubator

At the institute LaROS (Laboratory of applied radar and optical systems) at Trier university of applied sciences, several radar antennas for different projects has alredy been designed. In this work, the designed I/Q-radar, see [1], for breathing detection of premature babys is verified by several measurements. All the measurements were done in an incubator with a breathing simulator, consisting of a speaker, which was also designed at the institute. For the measurements, a corner reflector was attached on the speaker to obtain a better reflected signal. The verification of the radar system refers on the own developed data acquisition [2] and on the I/Q-radar system. The signal processing is applied on recorded radar signals by using MATLAB.
