LVChain: A Lightweight and Vote-based Blockchain for Access Control in the IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) is pervading our daily activities and lives with convenience and efficient services offered by connected devices scattered all over our lives. The rapid development of IoT will attract more concerns about security and privacy, especially for access control schemes. In this work, we propose LVChain, a Blockchain-based architecture, for IoT access authorization. Following the trend of IoT, our architecture is decentralized, scalable, fault tolerant and capable of working off-line. Furthermore, owing to its voted-based consensus algorithm, our architecture works well in Bluetooth low energy (BLE) based devices.
