Improved independence and fault-tolerance of INS/GNSS integrated navigation system by SAR

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a type of radar capable of generating very high resolution images of ground based objects and working independently. For the problem of INS/GNSS integrated navigation system this paper fuses a sensor of SAR with it to improve its independence, fault-tolerance and navigation precision. The simulation results prove that SAR advances this system's performance. Meanwhile, the attitude stability of SAR antenna is enhanced. SAR images and the integrated system's precision are improved. So INS/GNSS/SAR integrated navigation system is of high performance with high fault-tolerance.
